Connect a bluetooth printer with Zakya

The Zakya Express Checkout app simplifies retail transactions via Android and iOS devices. It integrates with Bluetooth printers for swift bill generation, reducing queues and enhancing customer satisfaction.

In today's fast-paced business world, everyone is working towards guaranteeing their customers' happiness and satisfaction. Retail and hospitality industries make major use of a POS application to manage their inventory, ease the accounting process, and handle their customer data. All these functions help to make the customer experience at the store better and more personalized.

The Zakya Express Checkout application can be installed on your Android and iOS devices, and can be used to complete a sale and create bills at the store. This mobile application is used by salespeople to reduce the queue at the store and ensure a quicker checkout process. You can print bills by connecting your mobile app with a bluetooth printer, and keep your billing table free. Bluetooth printers are a quick solution in today's fast-paced business world, as they are easy-to-use and secure. They can be connected with a mobile phone or a tablet to print bills and receipts in an efficient manner.

The printers have to be configured and connected with the Zakya mobile application for printing the bills directly. In order to do this, you have to use the Zakya Bluetooth Connector application which can be downloaded and installed from Google Play Store.

Physical Setup

  • Requirements - 2" or 3" bluetooth printer, mobile, paper roll.

Configure the bluetooth printer on your mobile

For the configuration to occur and function smoothly, there are some prerequisites. Media permissions are required by the Zakya bluetooth connector app to access files and save receipts, location, and bluetooth permissions to access and connect to nearby devices. The pairing key of your bluetooth printer is necessary to pair it with a mobile device.

  • Download the Zakya Bluetooth Connector mobile application.
  • Provide media, location, and bluetooth permissions to the device.
  • Connect with the relevant printer using the pairing key, once the app starts scanning for nearby devices.
  • Select the printer inch as 3" or 2" depending on the size of the paper.

    Once connected, the printer details will be listed in the app as Configured Printer.
  • Click Test to check if the printer is connected and working.

To change printer settings

  • Click Edit if you wish to change the size of the paper you chose.
  • Click Settings to change printer settings.
  • Enable Line Feed if you want the printing action to be carried line by line.
  • Enable Clear Buffer to clear the temporary storage if the printer doesn't do it automatically.

Connect Zakya POS app with the printer

To connect the printer with the Zakya Express Checkout mobile application, the printer brand is configured according to the size of the paper.

  • Click More > Settings > Printers in the Zakya Express Checkout mobile application
  • Choose the Printer Brand as 2 & 3 inch Bluetooth Printers.
  • Enable Print receipt to use the configured printer for printing bills.

To print a bill

  • Add all the items to be billed in the cart.
  • Click Checkout to go to the payment page.
  • Choose the relevant payment mode and complete the payment.
  • Click Tender to finish the sale, and this will automatically print the bill.
  • Alternatively, you can also click More > Transactions to retrieve old transactions and print the bill.

Note

  • If a user logs out of the mobile app, the session will be closed and the transactions cannot be retrieved the next time they log in.
  • When you try to connect Zakya POS with the printer without installing the Zakya Bluetooth Connector app, clicking Configured Printer will prompt an error message asking you to install the app from Google Play Store.

To disconnect the printer

  • Click Edit on the homepage of your Zakya bluetooth connector mobile application to edit the printer settings.
  • Click Disconnect Printer to disconnect the printer from the application.

Note

  • Once a printer is disconnected, it will be listed under My Printers.
