In any retail business, labeling items with barcodes is an important inventory management task. It helps you input item details into your POS effortlessly through a barcode scanner to track its current status and identify discrepancies. In order to label an item, you must set up a barcode label template, map the barcode to any of the item's fields (SKU or EAN), and print it using a barcode printer.
Once the barcode template is configured, you can map the item to the template. Items can be mapped one at a time or in bulk, and you can print them all at once.
Generate and print a barcode for a single item
- Navigate to Inventory > Items.
- Select your item and click Generate Barcode.
- On the Generate Barcode screen, choose your preferred Template and Barcode Field Generationfrom the drop-down list and click Generate and Save.
- On the Print Barcode screen, provide the Number of Barcode Copies and Print.
- On the Preview screen, click Print.
- On the Print screen, you can choose the printer in the Destination field and click Print.
Generate and print barcodes for bulk items
- On the Items module screen, check your items and click Bulk Actions and select Print Barcode.
- On the Generate Barcode screen, choose your Template and Barcode Generation field and click on Generate and Save.
- On the Print Barcode screen, provide the Number of Barcode Copies required for each item and click Print.
- On the Preview screen, click Print.
- On the Print screen, you can choose the printer in the Destination field and click Print.
Note
- You are limited to selecting a maximum of 25 items for printing barcodes in bulk.
