Sales Cart Preferences
Sales cart preferences are the preferences that you can set which gives you authority over the offers and discounts provided for the customers. These preferences will help you keep limits on the discounts and offers provided by the billing personnel for closing a sale.
For example: Once the items are added to the cart, the billing personnel can change the item price of any item in the cart. The new price may be lower than the purchase price, which leads to loss or it may be more than the MRP which is against the law. In either scenario, such practices are detrimental to the business.
You can set these preferences if needed:
Item price should not be less than purchase price
This preference will keep the billing personnel from reducing the item price of any item added to the cart less than the purchase price of the item.
To set a limit for the Item price based on purchase price
- Go to Sales Channels > POS Preferences.
- Select Purchase price from the drop-down list of Item price should not be less than in the Sales Cart section.
- Click Save.
Item price should not be more than MRP price
This preference will keep the billing personnel from increasing the item price of any item added to the cart more than the MRP (Maximum Retail Price) of the item.
To set a limit for the Item price based on MRP
- Go to Sales Channels > POS Preferences.
- Select MRP from the drop-down list of Item price should not be more than in the Sales Cart section.
- Click Save.
Maximum bill discount
This preference will help you set a limit for the transaction level discount. Once you have set this preference, the billing personnel won't be able to provide a transaction level discount beyond your limit.
To set the maximum bill discount percentage
- Go to Sales Channels > POS Preferences.
- Enter the Discount Percentage in the Max bill discount allowed text box.
- Click Save.
- This preference will only be applicable if prevent stock from going below zero is enabled.
Group items
This preference will help you group the repeatedly added same item as a single line item in the cart.
To group the items
- Go to Sales Channels > POS Preferences.
- Click the checkbox of Group the items added more than once as a single line item in the Sales Cart section.
- Click Save.
Customer Preference
Collecting customer information is vital for any business. Using this information, you will be able to understand customer preferences with purchase records, run personalized marketing, maintain better customer relationships, and much more. So, if you don't want to miss out on a single customer information who makes a purchase at your store, you need to enable this preference. This preference will make it mandatory to add customer info before customers proceed to checkout.
To mandate customer mapping
- Go to Sales Channels > POS Preferences.
- Click the checkbox of Mandate customer mapping for an invoice in the Customer Preference section.
- Click Save.
Hide out-of-stock items
Sometimes, what we have physically in the store doesn't match what the POS system says we should have. This can happen for various reasons, like selling things without bill entry or putting stuff on the shelves without purchase entry. This preference will help you hide items that are out of stock on the sales screen. This way, it's simpler for the people at the cash register to spot and deal with any differences between what's physically there and what the POS system shows.
To hide out-of-stock items
- Go to Sales Channels > POS Preferences.
- Click the checkbox of Hide out of stock items in the Others section.
- Click Save.
- This preference will only be applicable if prevent stock from going below zero is enabled.
