In order to set up the weighing scale with the Zakya POS app, the following has to be configured:

  • Port: This connects your device with the weighing machine. Select the port to which the weighing machine is connected. For example, the port name could be COM1. If it's not displayed, make sure that the weighing scale is connected properly with your device.
  • Baud: The Baud or Baud Rate determines the speed of data transmission. Each weighing scale will have a designated baud rate. Select the Baud Rate of the weighing scale that is connected with the device from the drop down list. For example, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, etc.
  • Start: The starting position of the weight.
  • Length: The length of the weight.
  • Parity: A method of detecting errors in data transmission. Each weighing scale will have its predefined parity. They can be classified as:
    • No parity: The device does not have a parity bit.
    • Odd Parity: A parity bit is added to the data to make the total number of ones an odd number.
    • Even parity: A parity bit is added to the data to make the total number of ones an even number.
    • Mark Parity: The parity bit is always set to 1.
    • Space Parity: The parity bit is always set to 0.

  • Stop Bits: This is sent at the end of each character, which helps the machine identify the end of a character. For example, stop rates can be 1, 1.5, or 2.
  • Prefix: Specify a value that precedes the weight.
  • Suffix: Specify a value that comes after the weight.
  • Enter Count: The number of values that you would get from the weighing scale. If this value is chosen as 5, then five values can be obtained from the weighing scale.
  • Get nth value: The value that will be picked as the final weight from the weighing scale. If this value is chosen as 3, then the third value will be chosen as final. For example, the nth value is 3 and the following weights are displayed: 45 kg, 45 kg, and 47 kg. 47 kg will be chosen as the final weight because the nth value is defined as 3.

  • Port: This enables the connection between your device and the pole display. For example, the port name could be COM12. If it's not displayed, make sure that the pole display is connected properly with your device.
  • Baud: The Baud or Baud Rate determines the speed of data transmission. Each pole display will have a designated baud rate. Select the Baud Rate of the weighing scale that is connected with the device from the drop down list. For example, 2400, 4800, 9600, and 19200.
  • Parity: A method of detecting errors in data transmission. Each weighing scale will have its predefined parity. They can be classified as:
